Every New Year’s Eve I perform a ritual of reflecting on the last year and setting goals for the new one. This exercise helps me:
appreciating all the good things that I experienced over the year
reflecting on goals that I did not complete and deciding what to do about them
becoming clear about what I want from the next year, so that in 12 month’s time I can look back and say: “Wow, this has been a great year!”
If you want to give it a try, click here to download the template I use for this exercise.
This video explains how to use it:
Annual Goal Setting with my free template
I also created this goal setting guide which covers eveything you need to know about effective goal setting. It also has a troubleshooting section which explores what might go wrong and how to address it.
