Let’s be honest, we all love telling dramatic stories about our lives. It can be fun. But let’s be careful not to get too absorbed in them. It’s easy to get obsessed by stories about how we “just are”, how things “happen to us” and how we “have no choice”. This kind of language keeps us in victim mode and will just create more of the same misery.
Let’s own our issues. There is always a choice. We can change and create more positive outcomes for our life.
Replace your complaints with:
1. CURIOSITY: What really happened? What is your responsibility? What can you do?
2. TAKE ACTION: If we are stuck in a cycle of misery, then trying something new is the only way out.
3. CREATE NEW STORIES: Share your new inspiring stories about how you turned your fortunes around.
Can you image the difference?
